Learn a Foreign Language Al Fresco

Get acquainted with Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese at free beginner classes.

If you’ve been looking to learn a new language, but don’t want to commit to a multi-month class or dole out hundreds of dollars, Beginner Language Classes at Bryant Park are just the thing for you. This year, the classes will offer free instruction in three languages, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese, throughout the summer.

Taught by knowledgeable instructors from Inlingua, Beginner Language Classes are free and open to anyone who wants to learn. Each class is a fresh start, so you can jump in at any time during the season. Registration is required, and opens one week before each class. Email to reserve your spot. If registration for your desired class is full, take a chance and drop by, as we have been able to accommodate walk-ins at some of our summer classes.

The classes meet on the Upper Terrace, across from Bryant Park Cafe, on Mondays, 11:45am-12:30pm, through August 29 (no class on Memorial Day or July 4 holidays). Classes alternate in order: Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese.
