Get Creative at Urban Sketching Meetups

Professional artists give free guidance and advice at artistic meetups in 34th Street District.

34th Street Partnership is partnering with the Art Students League of New York to offer fledging artists the opportunity to interact with and learn from professionals in an informal setting. Urban Sketching Meetups meet at different locations throughout the District, and focus on various disciplines, such as still life, figure drawing, landscape, and architecture.

Meetups convene 6pm-7pm on the first Wednesday of each month from June to September. The first session meets at One Penn Plaza, Park East on June 1, and will be led by artist Victor Honigsfeld, who specializes in urban plein air drawing and painting. The next session, also led by Mr. Honigsfeld, meets on July 6 at Herald Square Park.

Classes are free, and limited materials are provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own.
