Festival returns to the Bryant Park Stage on August 19, backed by delicious food curated by Hester Street Fair, beer and wine, and activities like hula hooping and juggling.
Bryant Park Presents Emerging Music Festival returns for its second year on Friday, August 19, bringing you five of NYC's best up-and-coming bands for free. Grab a blanket and some friends, and enjoy a beautiful music-filled summer night on the Lawn.
The evening begins at 5pm with R&B/electronic duo Gemma. Described in The New York Times as “a silky, poppy new project with plenty of open space, mid-'80s R&B hooks and gently skittering beats,” Gemma jibes perfectly with the beautiful park on a warm summer evening. A different band takes the stage at the top the next four hours, including:
Those in attendance will want to stayed well-fueled, so we have a tantalizing array of quality food vendors on hand courtesy of Hester Street Fair. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. To keep you occupied between acts, activities like cornhole, juggling, photo ops, hula hooping, and interactive art will be set up around the Lawn.
Bryant Park Presents continues to bring the best in the performing arts to Manhattan’s Town Square. Accordions Around the World continues on Wednesdays, 8-10pm, before winding up with the five-hour Accordion Band Festival on August 31. The final IN/TERSECT brings a scintillating mix of jazz and classical music ensembles to the park for five hours of performances on August 26. Stay tuned, as Shakespeare returns for its final production of the season on September 1, as The Drilling Company begins a 10-performance run of the Bard’s famous comedy Measure for Measure.
