Food Trucks on Fifth Extends Through September

Grilled cheese sandwiches from Gorilla Cheese NYC join lineup of delicious lunchtime options.

Food Trucks on Fifth has been providing visitors to Bryant Park with some of NYC’s finest food trucks since early June, and we are pleased to report that the program will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September.

On Thursdays, we welcome a new vendor, Gorilla Cheese NYC, who takes comfort food to a whole new level. Using fresh local breads and a diversity of cheeses, the truck creates some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the city, including the “GCNYC1 Classic” (American cheese on buttery white bread) and the envelope-pushing “Brooklyn Special” (fresh asiago and prosciutto di Parma on an inside-out panini with aioli). Add a tasty side like Crispy Tater Tots, Killer Mac & Cheese, or a cup of Tomato Soup with Mac & Cheese Bites. Then, finish it off with the “Big S” s’mores dessert and you’ll be satisfied all afternoon.

Snowday, NYC’s first farm-to-truck food truck, has taken its turn on Tuesdays since earlier this summer and will stay on through September. Snowday is dedicated to serving maple syrup-themed treats made with ingredients sourced from local farms.  The truck is operated by Drive Change, a New York-based non-profit that trains and employs formerly incarcerated youth in hopes of helping them find work and keeping them out of prison. To get a closer look at their delicious food, check out a review on the Bryant Park Blog.

Food Trucks on Fifth is open 11am-3pm at the southern end of the Fifth Avenue Terrace on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September. Take advantage of NYC’s spectacular autumn weather and come to enjoy these terrific food trucks.
