Get ready to bundle up, because the third annual Winter Carnival at Bank of America Winter Village kicks off this Friday, January 27 and continues through February 4. For nine days, Bryant Park offers a wide array of cold-weather activities, quality food and drink for sale, and spectacular special events.

Activities include free skating and curling lessons, Frozen Finger Juggling, and Frozen Toes Yoga (in the warm confines of Overlook). The kickoff event is the Opening Night Skating Showcase from 6pm-6:45pm on Friday, January 27 at The Rink. Winter Village Skating Ambassador Johnny Weir headlines a slate of performers that includes reigning World Champions pairs skaters Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, globally-ranked synchronized skating team The Skyliners, and Special Olympic New York athletes. The showcase is free, no tickets required.

On Sunday, dance the cold away at a silent disco hosted by Southwest Airlines. Grab a pair of headphones and tune in to DJs spinning three genres: Top 40/EDM, 80s and 90s hits, and Motown/oldies. Switch between channels, and your headphones will glow to let everyone know what you’re listening to. Once you’ve got your headphones, you can come and go as you please all around the park. The event is free, no tickets required, but be ready to swipe your credit card as a deposit for your headphones.

For food and drink, stop by the Outdoor Winter Brew House on The Deck. Enjoy a variety of beers from Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, or warm up with a glass of glühwein, made with Cali Red from The Drop Wine Company. Whichever you choose, it will go great with a classic sausage or bratwurst produced by Brooklyn Cured. The Brew House is also host to live music and fun activities including Live Band Karaoke with Arlene’s World Famous, bingo and trivia nights, and a live performance from Solomon Hicks ‘Band of Brothers’ to close out nine days of festive winter fun.

Throughout the Carnival, warm up at the Bank of America Warming Lodge on the Upper Terrace. It’s toasty inside, with comfortable furniture, free charging stations, and a virtual snowball throw competition with fun prizes for the daily winner. Bank of America cardholders who show their card can get a free cup of hot chocolate.

Winter Carnival runs from January 27 through February 4. For more information and the full schedule of activities please visit Some handy notes on events taking place: If you want to learn curling, you do not need to wait in the line to enter the Skating Pavilion; just come to the eastern end of The Rink in shoes. The Rink will remain open for regular skating as this activity take place. There will be six free skating lessons in total, all beginning at 12pm. Registration is required at Eventbrite.  Frozen Toes Yoga is at 5:30pm and 7pm on Thursday, February 2. Sign up is also at Eventbrite, and registration is recommended, as space is limited.
