Health-conscious lunch goers in the Bryant Park neighborhood will have another great choice just in time for summer as Sweetgreen, the fast-casual salad and grain bowl chain, has signed a lease at the Grace Building, just across 42nd Street from the park. According to Lauren Elkies Schram of Commercial Observer, the chain will occupy 4,613 square feet (2,334 at ground level and 2,279 below grade) of the building located at 1114 Avenue of the Americas.

It’s just the latest of an impressive number of health-conscious eateries and grocery stores that have dramatically transformed the food scene around Bryant Park. The addition of Sweetgreen is an exciting continuation of that trend. “Sweetgreen brings a wildly popular food destination to the Bryant Park area, which has become a real haven for a diverse and inventive array of quality food options,” Michael Goldban, Brookfield’s senior vice president of retail leasing who handled the deal, said. “The Grace Building will be an ideal location for Sweetgreen, and its presence is great news for our tenants as well as all of the other tenants of and visitors to the Bryant Park area.”

The owners of the chain are also optimistic. “We’re excited to announce our newest Sweetgreen in one of the most iconic buildings in New York City,” said co-founder Jonathan Neman. “We have been a part of this community for four years and look forward to expanding our reach with our new location across from beautiful Bryant Park.” We offer a hearty welcome and wish them good luck.
