Learn about the rich history of 34th Street for free at weekly tours.
Throughout February, New Yorkers and visitors alike enjoyed free tours of 34th Street, courtesy of 34th Street Partnership and The Municipal Art Society of New York. Tour34: Empire to Penn presents tours of our busy, dynamic neighborhood, led by trained MAS docents, and we’re extending the free offer through March.
This is a great chance to learn about the architecture, personages, and commercial history of an area that has seen incredible changes over the last 120 years.
There are four 1.5-hour tours each week: Fridays at 12:30pm, Saturdays at 10:30am and then again at 12:30pm, and Sundays at 10:30am. You can register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Each tour is a little different, so the meet-up location is given upon registration. Participants also can get a free coffee or soda at the Wafels & Dinges kiosk in Herald Square, with the purchase of a waffle.
