The park's film expert never stops preparing for the next season of Reel Talks.
It’s March and summer seems a bit far off, but you can be sure Bryant Park’s resident film expert Scott Adlerberg is getting ready for another season of Reel Talks. For five years now, Scott has entertained and impressed audiences at the Reading Room with his exhaustive knowledge of and enthusiasm for film.
Scott is one of those New York treasures – an enthusiast who knows seemingly everything about cinema – you name the genre, he has seen hundreds of examples and can speak about it extensively. He began acquiring this treasure trove of film knowledge the best way: by frequenting NYC’s movie theaters since he was a teenager. Through the years, he has seen thousands of films and has accumulated an impressive library.
Not surprisingly, Scott is also a voracious reader and a published author. His latest book is the eerie thriller Graveyard Love and he also writes regularly for the website Criminal Element and the crime fiction blog Do Some Damage.
Look for Reel Talks to resume this summer, as Scott is paired with film scholars and writers to discuss film topics in depth at the Reading Room on selected Film Festival nights. There will be seven sessions in all, with the first scheduled for noon on Monday, July 17. If you haven’t seen him in action, make a point of it this summer. We guarantee there’s no other film talk series quite like it.
