Reading Room Reopens April 1

New York's busiest outdoor library returns for the season, once again providing free use of reading materials and a host of public events.

Fans of al fresco reading will be happy to learn that the Bryant Park Reading Room will be open for the season starting April 1, weather permitting. That means that once again, visitors will have a selection of current newspapers, magazines, and great literature to choose from as they relax and read under the London Plane trees.

The Reading Room also has a full schedule of literary events lined up, kicking off on April 27 with the annual Poem in Your Pocket Day. In addition to welcoming many award-winning authors and poets, the Reading Room is also set to bring back many crowd favorites like Reel Talks, Spelling Bees, Writing Workshops, and many more.

We thank our generous neighbor HSBC, which has been our main sponsor since we opened the Reading Room back in 2002.
