It's time for our warm-weather activities to reopen for the season, including Art Cart, Games, Chess, Putting and Kubb, Petanque, and Ping Pong.
The transition of Bryant Park from winter wonderland to warm weather playground is nearly complete. Bank of America Winter Village is safely packed away until next October, flowers are starting to sprout in the garden beds, and the Lawn has been installed and is now establishing strong roots. All that’s left is for our spring amenities to open.
That wait will be over next week, when a host of free activities open for the season. if you’ve been chained to your desk through the winter, this provides a great reason to get up, go outside, and have some fun at your favorite park.
Beginning April 3, park visitors can enjoy these amenities daily, open 11am-8pm:
Art Cart: Bring out your artistic side on the Fifth Avenue Terrace with the free use of professional-quality drawing pencils, brush pens, charcoal, blending stumps, erasers, and sketch boards. Kids are also welcome, with crayons, colored pencils, markers, ribbon, glue, construction paper, and stencils available.
Pétanque: It’s not Bryant Park without Pétanque, the French game of boules played at the court adjacent to the Fountain Terrace. Though played year-round, aficionados from La Boules New Yorkaise return in April to staff the courts on weekdays.
Ping Pong: Match up against a worthy opponent at our two ping pong tables, located on the 42nd Street Allée.
These great park amenities will join the Reading Room, which officially opens on Saturday, April 1. Be sure to check our events calendar regularly, because there are special events and programs at all of these fantastic areas.
Ring in spring with Brianne Manz of Stroller in the City.
Bring the kids and enjoy an afternoon of free entertainment.
Reports announce the location will open this fall.
