Reading Room sponsor and all-around good neighbor to "stay in its premier digs."
HSBC has signed a five-year lease to keep its North American headquarters at 452 Fifth Avenue, just across 40th Street from Bryant Park and the main branch of the New York Public Library. We at Bryant Park are pleased by this news, as HSBC has been an excellent neighbor and generous partner ever since establishing its headquarters at the building.
In 2003, when we first thought of resurrecting the concept of an outdoor library at Bryant Park, HSBC was right there with the financial support that made it possible. The bank has been the Reading Room’s sponsor ever since, and has helped situate our outdoor literary series into the largest of its kind in the city.
Of course, HSBC had good reasons to stay put. “The HSBC commitment speaks to the continued strength of the Bryant Park submarket and 5th Avenue as a world-class business address. It further solidifies our hands-on management approach as our team worked closely with the tenant throughout the process to accommodate the financial giant’s requirements,” Eli Elefant, CEO of PBC USA, noted in prepared remarks.
We’re glad HSBC is staying, appreciative of their unwavering support, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration.
