Join as the Tai Chi Chuan Center leads an Eternal Spring Chi Kung routine twice weekly.
Tai Chi is back at Bryant Park. We celebrated the 14th Annual World Tai Chi Day in grand style on April 29, as Master Hyland Harris and his assistants from the Tai Chi Chuan Center presented three hours of free instruction and demonstrations of various forms of the ancient art on the Fountain Terrace. We counted 105 total participants, with another 220 looking on with great interest.
Bryant Park Tai Chi, kicked off its 14th season the following Tuesday. Provided by the Tai Chi Chuan Center and led by teachers and students who train under the direction of Master Harris at CK Chu Tai Chi, Tai Chi offers free Eternal Spring classes twice weekly through September. Classes meet at the Fountain Terrace on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30am–8:30am. Attendance is off to a great start; we saw 66 participants the first week, including 17 over the age of 61.
Tai Chi is held rain or shine. If the weather looks ominous, come to the park and a decision will be made about moving the class indoors to the nearby Tai Chi Chuan Center at 156 West 44th Street.
