New operator opens in 40th Street Allee serving up specialty coffees and pastries.
Bryant Park added a real jewel to its permanent food and beverage lineup in late April as Joe Coffee opened in the kiosk located on the 40th Street Alleé. The Brooklyn-based company prides itself on roasting its own coffee in Red Hook, and purchases only high-quality beans that are traceable and fair-trade, and ethically sourced.
Boosted by an investment from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, the company is looking to expand throughout NYC and the outlet in Bryant Park is one of four that have opened in NYC this year. In addition to fine coffees and espresso drinks, the kiosk will also serve food produced by USHG, including pastries and seasonal ice creams.
The kiosk itself was refitted to serve Joe Coffee’s needs while complementing the visual language of other Bryant Park amenities, and the result is terrific. We are excited that USHG is making its presence in the park year-round. The company also operated Public Fare, the rink-side café-restaurant at last winter’s Bank of America Winter Village, to great success.
