Bryant Park

Learn About Urban Beekeeping

Our apiary hosts monthly seminars taught by Andrew Cote of the NYC Beekeepers Association.

The Bryant Park Apiary, located at the northwest corner of the park by Heiskell Plaza is, quite literally, a hive of activity, serving as the home and workplace to hundreds of honeybees that help pollinate the park’s plants while producing delicious honey. The Apiary is in good hands, tended with the assistance of Andrew Cote, owner of Andrew’s Honey and founder and president of the New York City Beekeepers Association.

This summer, you can learn about the fascinating lives of these busy bees at monthly Beekeeping Seminars. This is a great opportunity to see the Apiary up close, taste some honey, and enter the incredibly organized world of the honeybee.

Beekeeping Seminars meet at 12pm on the second Friday of the month, through September. The next one is on July 14. Seminars last one hour, and are free and open to everyone.
