Screening of first episode of TNT's new Shakespeare-themed drama is tonight.
Bryant Park is the place to be for Shakespeare aficionados tonight as we host a special screening of the premiere episode of TNT’s new drama series Will. Everyone is invited to come to the Lawn, spread out their blankets, and enjoy the “wild story of young William Shakespeare’s arrival onto the punk-rock theatre scene in 16th century London” projected onto the screen on the Bryant Park Stage.
There will be Shakespeare-themed activities prior to the screening, including delicious food curated by Hester Street Fair, and members of the cast will take the stage afterward for some Q&A. The series makes its TV debut on July 10 on TNT. Here’s a trailer to give a taste of what to expect.
Will is the sponsor of this year’s Bryant Park Presents Shakespeare series, so it’s only fitting that we are hosting the premiere. Performed by the critically acclaimed troupe The Drilling Company, Bryant Park Presents Shakespeare is now in its fourth season of witty, irreverent presentations of the Bard’s work. The next production is Twelfth Night, which begins a three-performance run on the park’s Upper Terrace on Friday, July 28, 7pm–9pm.
Another impressive lineup of authors headlines this year's literary season.
