Bryant Park’s Author program, the series that brings a wide range of celebrity authors to the Reading Roomfor lunchtime discussions of the summer’s hottest new books, is now in its 14th season. Our signature literary program offers readers the opportunity to get the inside scoop on their favorite authors’ work, and then stick around afterwards and get their book signed. All of the books discussed are available for purchase on-site from our partner Kinokuniya Books.

Author is on Wednesdays, 12:30pm–1:45pm, through August 16. Next up, on July 5th is Alexandra Silber, the Broadway star who portrayed Tzeitel, goes beyond where Fiddler left off with After Anatevka: A Novel Inspired by “Fiddler on the Roof”. The event is hosted by Alisa Solomon, author of Wonder of Wonders: A Cultural History of Fiddler on the Roof.

There’s a lot more going on at the Reading Room this summer. Meanwhile, look for our popular Non-Fiction series to open its 2017 season on July 5, as we welcome James Barron, contributor to the New York Times and author of The One-Cent Magenta: Inside the Quest to Own the Most Valuable Stamp in the World. Non-Fiction is produced in partnership with New-York Historical Society.

Bryant Park Reading Room is made possible through the generosity of our neighbor, HSBC, which has been our sponsor since 2003.
