Bird of the Week Contest Winner Announced

Spring Birding Tours participant Elise Wong wins poster for photo of American Woodcock.

Elise Wong

Spring Birding Tours wrapped up another season last month. Led by Gabriel Willow of NYC Audubon, the twice-weekly tours demonstrate how buzzing with avian activity the park is at migration time.

This year, we introduced a Bird of the Week photo contest and invited all tour participants to take plenty of snapshots of birds spotted at the park and to email emailing their best to us. Weekly winners saw their pictures posted on our website, and were entered to win for the grand prize.

The overall winner was Elise Wong with her fantastic shot of an American Woodcock. Not only did we place her photo on our website, but she also received a free Fauna of Bryant Park poster by Pop Chart Lab. You can purchase the very same poster, and many more Bryant Park-themed items, at Bryant Park Shop.

While you wait patiently for the return of Birding Tours in September, you can find an excellent recap of the spring season on our website, including a full list of sightings, all the Bird of the Week photos, and an article about on the Great American Woodcock at Bryant Park, written by Mr. Willow.
