Series brings together film connoisseur Scott Adlerberg with authors and critics.
Scott Adlerberg returns to the Reading Room next Monday to launch his fifth season of Reel Talks. Scott combines an astounding breadth of film knowledge with an infectious enthusiasm that has made Reel Talks a crowd favorite ever since it debuted. This year we’ve paired him with an impressive array of scholars, authors, and critics for discussions on some of his favorite topics. It’s free and open to all, and questions are encouraged. Here’s the lineup of Scott’s partners this season and the books they will be discussing:
July 17: Jake Hinkson, The Blind Alley: Investigating Film Noir’s Forgotten Corner. Hinkson is also an accomplished fiction writer.
July 31: Maer Wilson, The Other Side of Philip Dick: A Tale of Two Friends. Wilson was 2015 Fantasy Author of the Year, as chosen by AuthorClassifieds.com.
August 7: Joseph Luzzi, The Total Art: Italian Cinema from Silent Screen to Digital Image. Luzzi is a Professor of Comparative Literature at Bard College.
