Hone your skills at a workshop and then put your knowledge to the test at our second annual Crosswords Tournament at the Reading Room.
Crossword puzzle aficionados are easy to spot. Whether on the subway, in the office, or sitting in the park, they’ve got their folded newspaper in one hand, pencil (or, for the truly confident ones, a pen) in another, and their concentration is total. If you’re one of them, you’ll be happy to know that Coffee & Crosswords is coming back to Bryant Park Reading Room.
Debuting last year, Coffee & Crosswords offered a workshop where puzzle-heads could learn tips and strategies for completing even the toughest puzzles, and a tournament at which the best of the best matched wits. It was an instant hit, and we’re excited to bring it back.
On Friday, September 8, join Wall Street Journal puzzle editor Mike Shenk and his partner at Puzzability, Amy Goldstein, for a Coffee & Crosswords Workshop. Then return the next day and participate in our second annual Crosswords Tournament, facilitated by Mr. Shenk and Ms. Goldstein.
The workshop is 11:30am–1pm on September 8, and is free and open to all. The tournament is 11am–2pm on September 9. It’s also free and open to all, but pre-registration is recommended. You can register using Eventbrite.
