Two Spelling Bees at the Reading Room

Calling all word wizards to the city's biggest al fresco spelling bees.

Bryant Park Spelling Bee returns this month, with two big contests at the Reading Room that will test the knowledge and nerves of even the most word-obsessed contestants. Produced in partnership with Oxford University Press, the Bees are co-hosted by Magnet Theater performer Olivia Petzy and, fresh from a month-long gig at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, comedian Kevin Doyle. DJ Flip Bundlez will also be there to spin some tunes.

It’s free, and everyone who thinks they know words pretty well are invited to participate. You must be 21+ to qualify, and registration is required. Here are the dates and times:
