One of the world's great opera companies performs excerpts from Verdi's most famous works.
Bryant Park Presents, our signature performing arts series, has brought adventurous outdoor cultural experiences, free and open to all, to Manhattan’s Town Square all summer long. This Friday, we close the series out in style with Viva Verdi, an evening of excerpts from some of Giuseppe Verdi’s most famous operas, performed by the newly revitalized New York City Opera.
This also gives opera fans one more chance to join us for Friday Picnics. Local vendors curated by Hester Street Fair offer food and drink for purchase near the lawn, and the Park Shop & Info Tent is there as well. Stop by and borrow a blanket to spread out on the Lawn for the performance.
Viva Verdi is on Friday, September 15, 6pm–7pm and will be performed on the park’s Upper Terrace. Viewers can choose to sit in the chairs arranged in front of the Upper Terrace, or find a spot on the Lawn from which to enjoy the performance.
