Tree Lighting Skate-tacular on December 1

Ring in the holiday season with a performance by world-class skaters to a holiday tale narrated by Jane Krakowski.

Elizabeth Shrier

The holiday season at Bank of America Winter Village kicks into high gear on December 1 at 6pm with our annual Tree Lighting Skate-tacular. The event includes live music, a performance of our own theatrical production on ice, fireworks, and free skating for all. The Tree Lighting Skate-tacular is made possible by Bank of America, with additional support from Salesforce, LUMA Hotel, and Time Out.

Narrated by Emmy-nominated actor Jane Krakowski, The Lights Before Christmas is a delightful holiday tale about a family on the night before Christmas. The production will be performed on ice by a fantastic line-up of accomplished figure skaters, including two-time Olympian Johnny Weir, 2006 World Champion Kimmie Meisner, 2014 Olympic Pairs Ice Dancing Gold Medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, and former World Champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist Jeff Buttle.

After the performance, it’s time for the tree to be lit, accompanied by a sparkling firework display. Then the Rink opens up for public skating accompanied by a live band performing an additional hour-long concert of holiday favorites and standards.

With this year’s Skate-tacular taking place on World AIDS Day, Winter Village is continuing the tradition of celebrating the season of giving by supporting (RED) for the fourth year in a row, spotlighting the organization’s mission to create an AIDS-free generation. Bank of America is hosting a (SHOPATHON)RED pop-up shop where guests can browse and order products to support the organization’s annual campaign to raise money for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS
