Lots To Do This January

Ward off the blues with a visit to Bryant Park.

Bryant Park Juggling
Erin Kestenabum

With the holidays over and three or four months of cold weather staring at its residents, January used to be a dreary month in New York City, and a slow time at Bryant Park. That all changed, of course, with the addition of winter programming and Bank of America Winter Village. There’s plenty to do at Manhattan’s Town Square, and a brisk jaunt in the crisp air is just the thing to clear the cobwebs.

The Rink remains open every day, 8:00am-10:00pm, through March 2. Celsius is also open through March 2, 12:00-10:00pm on Sunday-Wednesday, and 12:00pm-midnight on Thursday-Saturday.

Le Carrousel in Bryant Park, which just concluded yet another record-smashing year, is open every day through January. The hours are 11:00am-9:00pm, Sunday-Thursday, and 11:00am-10:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays. Rides are only $3, and a Frequent Rider card gets you 10 rides for only $15.

Bryant Park Juggling will also continue through the cold months. Our dedicated instructors set up on the northwest corner of the Deck, adjacent to The Rink, every weekday from 12:00-1:00pm. They’ll give lessons to anyone who wants to learn. They also host an evening session from 5:30-7:30pm each Tuesday, so you still have the opportunity to join in the fun if afternoon juggle sessions conflict with your work schedule.

And don’t forget Southwest Porch. It’s open 11:30am-10:00pm every day, offering luxury seating, a hand-warming fire-pit, and delicious sips ‘n snacks hand-crafted by ’wichcraft.
