Celebrate Mardi Gras at Le Carrousel

Annual bash kicks off the carousel's return to daily operation.

Temperatures are warming up, which means Le Carrousel is greeting more and more visitors each day. Beginning this Saturday, March 1, Manhattan’s most charming merry-go-round will return to daily operation. It will be open 11:00am-7:00pm, seven days a week, through May 31.

Also on March 1, Le Carrousel hosts the biggest Mardi Gras bash north of the Crescent City. We invite all kids and their parents for a free, one-hour party with masks, music, and much more. There'll be a parade of all the dressed-up revelers (remember: purple, gold, and green are the traditional Mardi Gras colors), beads galore, and chocolate coins. Everyone's invited and, of course, the event is free. Magician Arnie Kolodner, an old hand at Le Carrousel, will host and perform magic tricks, and music will be supplied by Dr. Zsa's Powdered Zydeco Band.

Afterwards, be sure to take a spin or two on Le Carrousel. Rides are only $3, and $15 gets you ten rides – surely one of the best deals in the city!
