Daily park amenities and weekly events return for the warm season.
Bryant Park Games is now open daily at the 40th Street Plaza, 11:00am – 7:00pm, with more games than ever and special Game Socials scheduled so you’ll know when to come to play persons skilled in your favorite game. The Bryant Park Blog has outlined the schedule of these special sessions.
Bryant Park Reading Room is also back in operation, 11:00am – 7:00pm, providing free use of newspapers, magazines, books, and children’s literature for anyone who stops by. As we mark the 11th anniversary of the return of a free outdoor library to Bryant Park, let us once again offer our thanks and gratitude to our sponsor HSBC Bank, which has been onboard the entire way.
Spring is migratory season for birds, and NYC’s geography makes it a natural resting spot for our feathered friends as they make their way to their northern digs. Since Bryant Park is Manhattan’s largest expanse of greensward south of Central Park, many of these travelers come down for a breather here at the park. Bryant Park Birding Tours, conducted by NYC Audubon, are timed to take full advantage of this migratory phenomenon. The tours begin on April 7, and meet each Monday from 8:00-9:00am and each Thursday from 5:00-6:00pm, through May 22.
Check in regularly at our online calendar for more information on classes and events as they make their 2014 debuts. For now, keep in mind two dates: Thursday, April 24, when Poem in Your Pocket Day launches the 2014 Word for Word season at the Bryant Park Reading Room (11:00am - 2:00pm); and Saturday, April 26, when the park once again hosts World Tai Chi Day (11:00am-2:00pm) at the Fountain Terrace.
Despite being pushed back due to cold temperatures, the first round of spring planting in Bryant Park is now complete. We've installed fresh sod for the lawn, and planted daffodils and pansies in over 200 park planters.
Music comes to Fountain Terrace as part of NYC's Scottish celebration.
Zumba, Salsa, and Swing lessons free and open to the public.
