The Tables See an Upgrade

Ping pong site improved for players and spectators.

Wow. Have you seen our revamped ping pong area? It’s something to behold. When we opened The Tables in 2009, we were pleased to see it become an instant hit. On nice days, the area was quickly packed with players and spectators in the morning, and the action seldom let up. After five years of heavy use, it became clear to us that the amenity’s popularity demanded that we upgrade its infrastructure.

Our design creates a strong identity for The Tables, with a large, sturdy, and attractive floor providing players with room to really move (no more sudden transitions from a granite slab onto gravel). The playing area is surrounded by bright green artificial turf, to create a smoother transition to the rest of the park. We also made sure that spectators can watch games and move through the space more efficiently. Soon, we’ll add site-specific furniture that incorporates our signature green and pops of orange to make the area even more attractive.

Ping pong is popular amenity, so be prepared to wait if you come to play. We have a friendly attendant on hand daily, 11:00am – 7:00pm, through November, to schedule your match and provide you with free paddles and balls.

If you want to really test your skills, register for a Ping Pong Tourney, held at The Tables on the first Wednesday of each month, through October. The first tourney is May 7 and begins at 6:00pm. The slots have already filled up, but if you want to get on the waitlist, register here. The following tourney is June 4, and registration opens on May 1.
