Signature literary series launches 2014 season on May 21 with the author of The One & Only: A Novel.
Bryant Park’s signature literary series launches its eleventh fantastic season next week with an appearance by authors Emily Giffin & Jane Green.
The 2014 Word for Word Author series debuts next Wednesday, May 21, when Ms. Giffin, best-selling author of beloved works including Something Borrowed and Where We Belong, comes to the Reading Room to discuss her new book The One & Only: A Novel. This event runs from 12:30-1:45pm and will be hosted by Jane Green (Tempting Fate).
That’s just the first of fourteen Word for Word Author events at the Bryant Park Reading Room this season. Our eclectic lineup of authors includes Eddie Shapiro, Herman Koch, Jenny Mollen, Emma Straub, as well as other special events and presentations by celebrity authors.
On June 11, we welcome Andy Ross, whose monthly humor series Real Characters at McNally Jackson Books in SoHo mixes together New York’s best storytellers, comedy writers, and memoirists. Mr. Ross will be accompanied by "some friends" for this special performance. On July 9, some of the country’s leading thriller writers appear at the Reading Room for Bryant Park's salute to this year's ThrillerFest NYC, where they will discuss FaceOff, a one-time omnibus of stories pairing up some of the authors’ favorite characters.
Filmmaker Kevin Smith and Jay Mewes (better known as Jay & Silent Bob in many of Smith’s films), appear on July 30 to discuss their book, Jay & Silent Bob’s Blueprints for Destroying Everything. And on August 13, fans of Batman will be thrilled to celebrate The Caped Crusader’s 75th Anniversary.
