Herald Square Park is in good hands with Juan Manuel Lema.
Good employees are the lifeblood of a successful organization, and that’s especially true for urban management companies such as 34th Street Partnership. Our sidewalks are cleaner than those in other New York City neighborhoods, our street furniture is better maintained, and hazards are quickly noticed and removed. In the winter, the district is quickly open for business after a snow storm because our staff is on the street, ready to shovel snow and lay down ice melt.
All of this is made possible by employees like Juan Manuel Lema. Mr. Lema has worked on 34th Street’s Sanitation team for ten years now, and is responsible for maintaining Herald Square Park. In ten years, he has not missed a single day of work, or has even been late for a shift. His duties include emptying the litter baskets, washing the tables, cleaning the flower beds of litter, and sweeping up trash and debris. During the winter season, he also shovels and clears walkways of snow and ice.
“Juan Lema is a dedicated, ultra-responsible professional,” says his supervisor, Al Stampfel, Assistant Chief of Sanitation. “He helps make our Sanitation team the best in the business.”
Thank you, Mr. Lema, for your commitment to the job and New York’s public spaces. We’re lucky to have you.
