The Broadway French Market operates every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday between 35th and 36th Streets. On Tuesdays, visit Sharon from Mead Orchards, a family-run, 180-acre fruit orchard and vegetable farm in the Hudson River Valley.
White tents popping up on Broadway between 35th and 36th Streets are a welcome sight to area office workers and tourists alike, signaling the opening of the Broadway French Market. Operated by Bensidoun USA and produced in collaboration with 34th Street Partnership, the Broadway French Market combines the charm of a traditional European market with a rotating array of vendors offering fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, baked goods, and much more. The market is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30am – 6:00pm, through October 31.
One of our returning Tuesday vendors, Mead Orchards, has had a long history of participating in farmer’s markets throughout the state. A family-run, 180-acre fruit orchard and vegetable farm, Mead Orchards has operated since 1916 - for four generations - in the beautiful Hudson River Valley of New York state. Mead Orchards grows nearly 40 varieties of apples, as well as peaches, pears, plums, cherries, strawberries, and blueberries. The farm also grows a wide variety of greens, summer vegetables, winter squashes and pumpkins, and produces its own honey, apple cider, jams, and tomato sauce.
If you have a question about one of the products, just ask Sharon behind the counter. She brings enthusiasm and knowledge about her products, and will be glad to answer.
