Use professional-quality drawing pencils and brush pens, as well as crayons, stencils, and craft supplies at the new Bryant Park Art Cart amenity. Sketch freehand or work with our Teaching Artist on a guided project.
The scene at Bryant Park is quite inspiring: the lawn and flowers, the beautiful façade of the New York Public Library, the magnificent architecture of surrounding buildings, and the huge, happy crowds. Now you can capture the moment in a sketch, with materials provided conveniently on site at the Bryant Park Art Cart.
Debuting just this week, the Bryant Park Art Cart offers all the art supplies you’ll need to follow your muse, available free of charge. There are professional-quality drawing pencils, brush pens, charcoal pencils, blending stumps, kneaded erasers, and sketch boards. For kids, we’ve got crayons, colored pencils, markers, ribbon and glue, construction paper, and stencils. A Teaching Artist is on hand to provide basic instruction to those looking for a bit of creative help.
Some of the materials have been supplied by Materials for the Arts, which collects unused items from businesses and individuals and makes them available for nonprofits with arts programming, government agencies, and public schools.
Look for the Art Cart at various locations on the Fifth Avenue Terrace, in front of the New York Public Library. The Art Cart is open Mondays, 12:00 – 4:00pm, and Tuesdays through Fridays, 12:00 – 6:00pm, through September 30.
