Summer at Bryant Park means free entertainment for kids. The Reading Room and Le Carrousel are presenting full slates of fun and fascinating programs.

At the Reading Room, Word for Word Kids welcomes some of the most beloved characters and books from children’s literature for stories, songs, and games each Saturday. This week, come see everyone’s favorite ursine family perform numbers from their off-Broadway hit as we present The Berenstain Bears LIVE! Upcoming events include Starfish Rocks, Rolie Polie Guacamole, and Comic Con. Click here for the full schedule.

Over at Le Carrousel, Flaubert Frog, Calico Cat, and their magician buddies are back to entertain and astound kids and parents alike. On Saturdays, Flaubert and Calico host Le Carrousel Kids, and this year’s theme is Free to Be…You and Me. The hosts will present material from the book of the same name, as well as present some original and classic tales. On Sundays, Le Carrousel Magique returns for another season of amazing feats performed by our favorite magicians, including Jeff Moche, Ben Nemzer, R.J. Lewis, Chris Capehart, and Joe Maxwell. And remember, Le Carrousel is open every day through the summer and fall. Rides are only $3, and $15 gets you a Frequent Rider card, good for ten rides.

Word for Word Kids meets on Saturdays, 12:00-1:00pm, through August 23 (July 5 excluded).

Le Carrousel Kids meets on Saturdays, 1:00-2:00pm, through August 16.

Le Carrousel Magique meets on Sundays, 1:00-2:00pm, through August 10.

The Bryant Park Reading Room is sponsored by HSBC.
