Swing, Salsa, and Zumba taught on Broadway Boulevard with instructors from DanceSport.
Dance34, the series of free dance classes presented by 34th Street Partnership and conducted by instructors from DanceSport, has been having a great summer despite some soggy weather. Leading the way have been the fabulously successful Salsa classes, which have averaged 62 participants. Attendance at Zumba classes, after a slow start that included a rain cancellation, has averaged 33 per class with a high of 44.
There is still a full month for fitness-conscious visitors to participate in free Dance34 classes. Zumba and Swing lessons alternate on Mondays, 5:00-6:00pm, through August 25, and Salsa lessons are on Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, through August 26.
Capoeira34 classes, conducted by Professor Tiba of Capoeira Luanda, meet Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm through September 17, and The Warrior is held on Thursdays, 6:30-7:30pm, through September 25. All exercise and dance classes are conducted on Broadway Boulevard, between 34th and 35th Streets.
