For the Kids

Big Day for Kids This Weekend

Celebration of comic books, and season's final appearance by Flaubert Frog.

At Bryant Park Reading Room this Saturday, August 16th, bring your child to celebrate the comics at Comic Con for Kids - with special giveaways and a visit by Tania del Rio, author of the hilarious new book, Diary of a Girl Next Door: Betty. Produced in partnership with Penguin Random House, LLC, and Archie Comics, Comic Con runs from 12:00-1:00pm.

Immediately afterward, it’s time for Le Carrousel Kids, as Flaubert Frog presents Free to Be…Frog and Me one more time. The show includes songs and stories from the children’s classic Free to Be…You and Me and runs from 1:00-2:00pm. Afterwards, take a spin on Le Carrousel. Rides are only $3, and a Discount Card gets you 10 rides for $15.

Looking ahead, the final Word for Word Kids session is on Saturday, August 23 when Captain Underpants, the hero of Dav Pilkey’s children’s novel series, comes to the Reading Room courtesy of The Scholastic Store. This is just the latest example of Scholastic’s continued support of the Reading Room, and we thank them for their generosity.

The Bryant Park Reading Room is sponsored by HSBC.
