Stars made special appearances in the park throughout the summer season.

Some big names appeared at Word for Word Author this season. Jason Biggs, star of the American Pie movie franchise and co-star of the Netflix hit series Orange is the New Black appeared as a special guest when Twitter star Jenny Mollen discussed her book I Like You Just the Way I Am. A few weeks later, Piper Kerman, came to discuss Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison, the book on which the TV series is based. And Kevin Smith, director of Clerks, Chasing Amy, and other comedy hits, spoke about his book Jay and Silent Bob’s Blueprints for Destroying Everything.

NBC’s late night hosts seem to love the park. Earlier in the spring, ex-Yankee Robinson Cano let jilted Yankee fans vent their anger at a cardboard cutout of him (only to step out and greet them in person), for a Tonight Show bit. In June, the show sent Ryan Lewis, a music producer who works and often performs with Grammy-winner Macklemore, to the park to ask visitors what they thought of…Ryan Lewis. And Seth Meyers of Late Night with Seth Meyers shot a scene at Le Carrousel with newsman Lester Holt as part of an extended comedy segment.

Comedy director Judd Apatow brought cast and crew to the park in early July to shoot scenes for his upcoming film Trainwreck, written by Amy Schumer. Daniel Radcliffe and Marisa Tomei performed some scenes for the film, which included Mr. Radcliffe wrangling dogs. The film, which also stars Tilda Swinton and Ms. Schumer, is scheduled to open next year.

Also shooting scenes at the park were Sam Waterston and Olivia Munn, stars of producer Aaron Sorkin’s HBO series The Newsroom.

Dana Barron, co-star in National Lampoon’s Vacation, appeared onstage before the screening of the comedy at the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. She was joined by Violet Ramis, daughter of Vacation director Harold Ramis.

Many of the best young voices in hit musicals performed at Broadway in Bryant Park. The most recognizable face was that of Zach Braff. Star of TV, film, and stage, Braff appeared with the cast of Bullets Over Broadway, the musical based on the film of the same name by Woody Allen.

And lastly, just yesterday, Wednesday, August 27th, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn appeared in the park for a promotional film shoot. Heidi even stopped by the Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto kiosk!
